Update: Volunteers are essential to the Holland neighborhood. Here are a few upcoming meetings related to the neighborhood  where we hope you’ll consider putting your volunteer interests to work: Crime and Safety Committee meeting – 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, HNIA office Hot Dish Revolution Committee - 10 a.m. at the Eastside Food Co-op (2551 Central Ave. NE) every Sunday until the 7th annual extravaganza takes place  April 30, 4-7 p.m. Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) Steering Committee – 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at HNIA office. What Are Your Crime Concerns?

At our Nov. 11 general meeting, Holland Neighborhood’s 2nd Precinct Advisory Council representative Dan Scoggins described the Neighborhood Policing Plan and received feedback from local residents for the 2011 NPP plan.  The Neighborhood Policing Plan (NPP) is a plan for a joint policing strategy for the neighborhood and the 2nd Precinct. Holland Residents suggested the 2011 plan include a Top 10 problem properties list, more walking clubs, and a Crime and Safety Committee.  Six people volunteered to be on the Crime and Safety Committee, which is now in operation.
