Party in the Park a Success
On June 2nd, Holland Neighborhood invited our neighbors to our 2nd Annual Party in the park. Volunteers planted even more lilys and hostas around the park this year! Judy Johnson, Craig Kruse, Kristina Johnson, Lisa, Mike, Judy Arnold, Zach Arnold, John Koski, Nat Case and many others helped prune, trim and weed around the Train Park. The flowers look great! Hotdish Revolution 2012 Announced
The Holland Neighborhood Improvement Association invites you to the 8th annual Hotdish Revolution, the community cook-off, Jello competition and fundraiser that has become Holland’s signature event! This year the Revolution will take place on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Edison High School gymnasium (700 22nd Avenue NE, Minneapolis). Doors open at 4pm. Neighborhood Meets at Green Initiatives BBQ
On August 4th, at Jackson Park a meeting was held at Jackson Square Park to discuss the Green Initiatives ideas for the Edison Campus area. Julia Earl of Preventing Harm Minnesota facilitated the meeting. Lisa Brock of Council member Reich’s Office flyered residents in the area immediately around the Edison Campus to invite people to this meeting. Council Member Kevin Reich opened the meeting with Liz Wilenski of the Minneapolis Park Board. They discussed how Jackson Park’s softball field will have new turf and a sprinkler system this fall. This will make the field good enough for Edison High School to use the field for Girls softball. Liz also explained that a temporary softball field wall would be put up for the softball games.
